Camps at YCA are hands on, screen free, and fun! Over multiple days, campers build the skills needed to complete a culinary challenge on the last day!

At YCA Tomball, we teach Young Chefs to become confident in the kitchen! Camps are available in the Summer, Spring, and Winter Breaks. When school is out - we're open!

Just your Young Chef! We will have an apron for them to wear during camp. Everything else is provided. All we ask is that students arrive wearing closed toed shoes, and with any long hair pulled back. We have water available, but campers are allowed to bring a sealable water bottle to keep at their work station. We've got snacks covered too! One of the recipes we cook early in the day is usually used as a snack about half way through the day. But come with a full belly and we're good to go!
Of course! Parents are welcome to watch from the lobbies while camp is going on. Most parents choose to use this time to get some errands taken care of, and that's okay too! Just be sure to be back about 15 minutes before the end of camp, when we bring all of the parents into the kitchen to see what the Chefs have learned about.
Of course! Our campers are primarily divided by age, but just let us know who they are coming with, and we will do our best to keep them together.
Absolutely! Knife skills are one of the fundamental building blocks for a Young Chef in training. At YCA we start all of our campers out with safety knives and safety gloves. Most importantly, knife skills practice is always closely supervised by our teachers. Our skills focus for knife technique concentrates on proper handling and knife safety before moving into advanced technique.
Camper safety is always a top priority for us. Because each individual allergy or dietary restriction can vary so widely, we'd be happy to chat with you about your family's needs and see if we're a good fit. Young Chefs Academy is not an allergen free facility and does not adjust curriculum recipes to meet individual requirements. But in many cases, campers can still participate and just not sample a small portion of the food prepared that day.
